Ireland-Bulgaria-Cyprus: 2nd rehearsal

Niamh Kavanagh had another run-through of her song after charming her fans at the Polish party last night. Her voice sounded a little bit tired today, but there is no reason to believe it would not be right on the night when it matters. The performance was the same classy ballad with the emphasis on Niamh’s smiling Irish eyes we saw in the first rehearsal with a professional vocal performance. Ireland should by all accounts be in the final for the first time since 2007.

Second rehearsal:

First rehearsal:

Song two – Bulgaria

One of the many songs sporting wings as stage props here is Bulgaria. The two female dancers wave the see-through wings about, and the two male dancers have now lost their shirts. Bulgaria has decided to sing half of the song in English. Miro has a very powerful voice and it is surrounded by slow songs in the draw so it might get noticed to get votes needed to qualify.

First rehearsal:

Song three – Cyprus

The Cypriot effort is mostly powered by British artists this year. There are no tricks or gimmicks to this number, unless you count Jon Lilygreen’s taped up guitar he is always seen with. It is a confident enough performance and should secure a high televote from the UK and Ireland in this semi, but whether that will be enough to qualify will remain to be seen.
